The program features popular Inspirational Country hits from today and chart-topper's from the past, plus the latest Gospel Country news, requests and dedications, prizes, and more! Each week a portion of the show is dedicated to a featured artist. You'll hear tracks from their latest album release, interesting personal info, and short interview clips. Also, once a month we count down the top hits in Christian Country music. Tune in for a great time!
WHAT IS CHRISTIAN COUNTRY MUSIC?
Put simply, Christian Country music (aka Country Gospel or Inspirational Country) is country music with a gospel message. Christian Country music is generally thought to be sung by artists who promote themselves as Christians, while Country Gospel is performed by mainstream artists. More recently, a new brand of music has emerged called Positive Country, which tends to deal with God's answers to life's problems. It conveys biblical values but not necessarily a gospel message. We play it all on Riverside Country, but only if the song lyrics are biblically sound and will not confuse God's message.
WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?
The Bible says in Mark 16:15 that we are to spread the Gospel throughout the world. Riverside Country exists to help do just that, through music and song, and to provide enjoyment while honouring God... country style!
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JASON: After much prayer and pondering, I have made the extremely difficult decision to take a much needed break from radio. This means there will be no new episodes of Riverside Country, at least not in the near future. This was a completely volunteer ministry, and the time required to produce the show was eating into my regular work week for over a year now. I can't afford that. THANK YOU to all my listeners for your phone calls, emails, and support. I have loved my time working on this show, and who knows? Maybe someday I'll be able to bring it back.
